The reason for the demise of a susceptible teenager, who vanished during vacation, was disclosed at an inquest held today.
Athrun Lombardo, who is 16 years old, was initially reported as missing on May 10 during a vacation in Llandudno, North Wales, along with his parents and sibling.
The adolescent with autism was last spotted on that Saturday around the area of a boating lake and playground at West Shore Beach.
Marine, terrestrial, and aerial searches were conducted in the region by the police, coast guard, and RNLI, along with volunteers from the community.
Following an extensive four-day search for Athrun, his remains were found at 6:20 pm in the West Shore region.
Today’s inquest revealed that his family, who were visiting from Pinkers Mead, Emersons Green, Bristol, had been residing at an AirBnB at the time.
Following a post-mortem examination Home Office Dr Jonathan Medcalf, the pathologist, provided an initial determination of death due to drowning.
The inquest was postponed to a date to be determined.

In May, Chief Inspector Trystan Bevan offered his 'most sincere apologies' to Athrun's family following his passing.
"I would request that their privacy be honored during this extremely sorrowful and challenging period," he stated.
This result was not what anybody anticipated, and I want to express my gratitude once more to collaborating organizations and community members for their immense backing and relentless help during the search efforts these past five days.
Janet Finch-Saunders, who serves as the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, shared a touching tribute on Facebook dedicated to Athrun after his passing.
"I'm deeply saddened to hear about the unfortunate and highly troubling result, and I appreciate North Wales Police for giving me such a challenging briefing," she stated.
'My thoughts and prayers are now with his parents, family and friends and we should allow them the privacy to grieve over their dreadful loss.'
