As per an official announcement from the Ministry of Home Affairs, theUnion Ministershowed joy about the Indian team winning 613medalsAt the 21st World Police and Fire Games, he commended the Indian police and fire services team for their outstanding performance and for bringing honor to the nation. He mentioned that the upcoming World Police and Fire Games will take place in India.
Shah stated that our goal should be to guarantee that at least one athlete from each police force within the All India Police Sports Control Board takes part in the upcoming World Police and Fire Games. Our involvement should be inclusive. He further mentioned that each team should strive to secure at least three.medals. By establishing such a goal, the record of achieving 613medalswill collapse by itself.
The Union MinisterHe stated that today, the Indian team received an incentive amount of Rs 4,38,85,000. He noted that previously, the Police and Fire Games did not receive much attention in the country. However, in terms of participation, this is the world's largest sporting event following the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
Shah mentioned that almost 10,000 athletes are involved in these competitions, and due to the nation's outstanding results, it is a source of immense pride for 1.4 billion people.
Union MinisterHe mentioned that athletes from different police departments have done well by taking part in the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games, and now our attention should turn to the World Police and Fire Games - 2029. The Union Home Minister stated that the upcoming World Police and Fire Games will take place in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Kevadia in Gujarat. He expressed the expectation that Indian athletes will showcase such strong performance in these games that it will become evident that India has significant sporting potential. He noted that the Modi government is making efforts to host the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games in India, aiming to make sports a natural part of the people's lifestyle.
The Union Ministeradded that India plans to submit a bid for hosting the 2036Olympic Games, has already made a bid for the Commonwealth Games and has once more submitted a proposal to host the Asian Games. The aim of hosting these events in India is to integrate sports into the daily lives of the nation's people and various groups, including the police and fire department. He mentioned that sports should be an essential part of life.
He mentioned that a child who doesn't engage in play may become disheartened by failure, and a child who doesn't strive to win after losing never acquires the habit of triumph. There is only one place for learning — the field, the playing area — and it is on this field where the ability to accept loss and the drive to achieve success are cultivated. He stated that this mindset should progressively take root among our young people.

He further noted that the government is implementing measures to encourage sports participation among security forces by modifying service regulations and adjusting hiring procedures accordingly.
Union MinisterShah mentioned that last year, the Ministry of Home Affairs introduced various efforts, such as modifications in recruitment policies for identifying talent, establishing 25 outdoor sports teams within each force, and forming joint teams from the CAPFs. He further noted that the proposed National Sports Bill contains a clause to acknowledge police forces at the state level, allowing each police department to compete as one entity in national sporting competitions.
The Union Home Minister stated that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the sports budget has grown five times over the last decade, showcasing the government's dedication to sports. A significant number of new sports facilities have been established. Under the TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme), approximately 3,000 athletes receive a monthly allowance of Rs 50,000 to train for the 2036 Olympics.Olympic Games. The Fit India Movement has also had a positive effect on the selection of athletes, leading to a threefold rise in the number ofmedalssecured victories at the Olympics, Paralympics, and Asian Games.
Shah voiced optimism that India will rank among the top five nations in the medal standings at the 2036 Olympics. He mentioned that the Modi administration is bringing sports to every village, with systematic selection and training of children in all sports.
