More than 1,300 young people from Nigeria came together in Lagos for The Roundtable 2025, a youth-driven discussion centered on empowerment, confidence, and direction.
The gathering, hosted by Limitless Club, offers each year a space for young individuals to participate in open discussions on leadership, preparedness, and reimagining achievement.
This information was revealed in a statement released on Thursday, authored by its chairperson, Kennedy Ekezie, and the Public Relations and Communications Specialist, Mojolaoluwa Abayomi.
In the statement, the organizers emphasized the relevance of the theme, 'We Start from Enough.'
As stated by the organizer, this year's version questions the typical belief that youth need to obtain qualifications, acknowledgment, or flawlessness before creating a significant influence.
The statement mentioned, “Now in its fourth year, The Roundtable has evolved beyond being just a conference. Organized by Kennedy Ekezie and backed by a team that includes PR and Communications Specialist Mojolaoluwa Abayomi, the event unites a wide range of young people from various industries, backgrounds, and regions to exchange ideas, gain knowledge, and foster connections.”
The 2025 version drew more than 1,300 attendees, its highest attendance to date, yet the influence extended well beyond mere figures. The environment was characterized by introspection, openness, and courageous narratives, as participants examined what it signifies to begin from their current position, utilizing what they already possess.
The statement also highlighted how Tunde Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa, reminded the audience that even modest starts can hold worldwide impact. "You need to believe that whatever you possess is truly important," he stated, referencing his experience of changing lives through a chessboard.
The Head of Programming, Kamsi Asuzu-Obumselu, characterized the gathering as“"a village of being," a place where young individuals come together not to showcase, but to develop collectively.
"Reflection prompts, group activities, and discussions led by peers helped transform the day's lessons into actionable understanding," Asuzu-Obumselu noted.
The founder of the Shredder Gang, Bumi George, addressed the burden of perfectionism, urging attendees to participate even when they felt fearful or unsure. She highlighted that in a world where youth frequently wait until they feel perfect before taking action, vulnerability should be regarded as the basis for individual development.
Furthermore, Digital Creator Eric Gugua emphasized the significance of dedication. He mentioned that steady effort was crucial for achievement, noting that he only started to witness genuine change in his work after moving past years of sporadic commitment.
Former Education Minister, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, infused the event with a sense of urgency, presenting a structure based on purpose.
She urged the listeners to contemplate, show appreciation, and take accountability.
As she mentioned, bravery and teamwork are crucial principles, not mere choices. She emphasized that“"Character represents the most enduring form of worth," he stated, emphasizing that limited perspectives are no longer adequate and urging greater cooperation among youth.
