Forget everything you've seen before. This Chuseok holiday, TV Chosun will introduce a brand-new competition and program that has never been seen anywhere and has never been tried by any production team. On the nights of the 6th to 7th at 10 p.m., you'll be able to experience the◇A Battle of Ego: The Confrontation Between Ssireum and Sumo, where classic Korean and Japanese martial arts meet. On the nights of the 8th to 9th at 10 p.m., the◇A Collection of Trot Performances That Entertain Visually and Audibly, a collaboration between trot stars and nationally acclaimed eccentrics from all over the country, is waiting. The country's top MCs, including Kang Ho-dong and Kim Koo-ra, along with a remarkable cast, have come together. The production teams of both programs expressed confidence, saying, "Scenes you've never seen before will unfold."

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations, an intense Korea-Japan confrontation in broadcasting history is set to take place. The Korean team is guided by Lee Tae-hyun, known as the "Crown Prince of the Sand Field." Lee Man-ki, referred to as the "Living History of Ssireum," enhances the Korean team's strength. The star-studded lineup is also a major attraction. The captain is Choi Seong-hwan, a 12-time Hallasan Champion. Renowned for his IQ of 151 and membership in Mensa, his signature "deulbae-jigi" technique is eagerly awaited. The team also features Kim Min-jae, the "Strongest" with the most titles among current wrestlers; Hong Ji-heun, the "Super Rookie"; Im Jin-won, the "Bull of the Sand Field"; and Oh Jeong-mu, a "Three-Time Baekdu Champion." The Japanese team is equally impressive. Led by captain Tomokaze, a physical powerhouse standing 184 cm tall and weighing 184 kg, Japan's sumo giants have come together. Nakamura, the new leader of Japanese sumo, acts as director. This marks the first time that active professional sumo wrestlers affiliated with the Japan Sumo Association are appearing on a Korean broadcast.

The sharp exchanges among the cast are also highly anticipated. Kim Koo-ra, a self-proclaimed sports fan, works as a power analysis officer; Lee Man-ki as a special commentator; Jeong Jun-ha, whose wife is Japanese, as team manager; and Jo Jeong-sik, known as the "Master of Broadcasting," as a caster. Kim Koo-ra said, "Ssireum and sumo feel familiar but are completely different sports that collide in a unique match. You can expect a confrontation of technique and strength." Before the match, Lee Tae-hyun, director of the Korean team, declared, "With the Taegeuk symbol on my chest, I will never lose," throwing down the gauntlet.

The event features three stages. During the first stage, ssireum athletes are introduced to sumo and compete following sumo regulations; in the second stage, sumo competitors are taught ssireum and compete according to ssireum rules; and in the third stage, they battle using a "combined rule" that integrates aspects from both sports. The combined rule was created through talks between the directors of both countries. Even though they are not familiar with each other's sports, the athletes from both nations build friendships during intense competition.

The production crew mentioned, "We maintained fairness by keeping information such as the Japanese team's composition a closely guarded secret from the Korean side. Experience the thrilling moments where the arts and cultures of both nations come together, all from the convenience of your own home."

Even Kang Ho-dong, a national MC with numerous shows to his name, exclaimed, "Unbelievable!" when he saw the stage. Boom, reuniting with Kang Ho-dong after a long time, said, "A real variety show!" The 'Eccentric Heroes' Million Views Trot Show proves that there are still many new scenes to be explored with trot. It's a feast of dazzling performances never seen before. From eccentrics standing on bicycles, lifting their legs, and doing handstands to Ahn Sung-hoon's high-difficulty magic show, Son Bin-a singing while hanging from a pole, Kim Yong-bin transforming like a master of Venetian masks, and Kim Yong-im flying through the air on a rope—truly a visual spectacle.

The ensemble evokes the atmosphere of a trot awards event. It features Kim Yong-im, the 40-year veteran "Queen of Trot"; Ahn Sung-hoon and Kim Yong-bin, the "True" champions of Mister Trot 2 and 3; Jeong Seo-joo, the "True" winner of Miss Trot 3; Baek A-hyun, the "Good" victor; Seol Ha-yun, the "Trot Fairy"; Yoyomi; and Son Bin-a, Chun-gil, Choi Jae-myeong, Nam Seung-min, Yoo Ji-woo, and Kang Hoon, all performing on stage.

The top prize is 10 million South Korean won. To provide outstanding performances, trot stars refined their abilities, perspiring as they practiced unique techniques acquired from the peculiar ones. Their deep voices are expected, but their well-crafted, eye-catching shows captivate both sight and sound. Kim Yong-bin stated, “This show was designed to aim for a million views, and there were so many stages that I believed would exceed a million views, which surprised me.” The production crew added, “The recording location was already in disarray. We are certain it will go beyond a million views.”

The dynamic between Kang Ho-dong and Boom is also a standout feature. The two hosts, who understand each other effortlessly through a single look, have come together again. Kang Ho-dong remarked, "Boom has a gift for creating a lively environment, which makes our teamwork incredible. This is the most anticipated, must-see Chuseok package of the season." Boom added, "I wanted to participate in this show without any conditions because Senior Kang Ho-dong was involved. From the very beginning of the recording, it was exhilarating, as if my body remembered everything."
