A young woman was struck in the head as she tried to exit a gathering held in a derelict house inTexas.

Alianna Ujueta, 17, was celebrating with a group of teenagers at an event on Luckey Road in Bexar County, which authorities have referred to as a 'teen takeover'.

But she was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday, following reports that the gathering became violent.

The individual involved in the shooting left the area in a dark-colored truck following the gunfire and is still at large, according to police, who are asking anyone with details to come forward.

Her family gathered together withKSAT, informing the outlet that her passing had left them devastated.

Analiese Haben, Ujueta's elder sister, shared with the media: "We are longing for her. It's extremely difficult. We're missing the part that completed us."

Her family mentioned that she had completed high school ahead of schedule, was employed, and was excited about obtaining her driver's license.

Her sibling Kristopher urged everyone at the gathering to contact the authorities, stating, "Find the bravery to do what is correct. We don't wish for this to occur again."

The teenager's other brother Kevin added: 'She would wish to be recalled for the love she held for her family.

Her parents, Terri and Ivan Ujueta, met with Kens5, stating they had been contacted by their daughter's friend to inform them about the shooting.

Her father Ivan said to the publication, "We were hoping it wasn't our daughter. Our day turned dark, and there was no hope in sight. This has devastated us. It has torn us apart."

Ujueta's mother, Terri, characterized her as humorous, bold, and vibrant, stating, "She never went anywhere without making a friend."

A message shared by her mother on social media stated: "Her trademark smile was the first thing people noticed and the final thing those who cherished her will always remember."

It represented the endless happiness and brightness she introduced into every person's life.

We are deciding to concentrate on this happiness at the moment, along with the lively and joyful recollections she gifted us.

As we deal with this unbearable sorrow, we respectfully request privacy and consideration for our family. We ask that you give us the room we need to mourn.

The outlet also took pictures of the deserted property after the event, depicting beer bottles and glow sticks scattered across the grass.

Johnny Garcia from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office mentioned that it was uncertain whether she was part of a confrontation that occurred before the shooting.

He further urged parents to stay informed about the activities their children engage in beyond their residence.

Garcia stated, "There are methods to observe them via social media platforms. There are ways to trace them using iPhone applications, or apps that closely resemble those."

We attend these teen-adult gatherings at various locations, including abandoned places, which eventually result in gun-related incidents.

We are looking for video footage from people who were present at the location and attended the gathering.

Her passing is the most recent in a disturbing pattern affecting Bexar County, following the shooting death of Landyn Reyes, 17, at a comparable gathering last August.

In March of this year, 21-year-old Desirae Rivera was also shot and killed at a different gathering, Garcia mentioned, noting that such incidents are usually shared on social media and draw large crowds.
