Top local amateur golfers will battle for the top spot this weekend at the 2025 Nedbank for Good Series final, taking place at Omeya Golf Club on 3 October.
The concluding stage of the series will begin at 10:30, uniting competitors for a day filled with intense rivalry and also contributes to a commendable purpose.
The event will end with an award ceremony at 6:00 PM, during which the winners will be announced. The ceremony will also disclose the total sum of money collected this year's competition for the specified charity, Agra Provision.
The final participants consist of 25 victors from the Nedbank for Good regional competitions. The leading candidates from Omeya, Oranjemund, Gobabis, Okahandja, Mariental, Oshakati, Grootfontein, Outjo, Henties Bay, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Windhoek will compete on Friday, setting up an intense and exciting final.
The series coordinator, Dan Zwiebel, shared great satisfaction with the series' development and influence over time. "This year represents a special moment for us. Although last year's achievement was raising 1 million Namibian dollars, we are pleased to have introduced 3 new locations this year, allowing us to cover all 13 registered golf courses in Namibia for the first time."
Zwiebel emphasized the beneficial effect of the series on these smaller communities, pointing out that each of these towns has a unique tale. "It was great to see local fraternities putting effort into maintaining their golf courses. There was a clear sense of optimism in these small towns, and that was a major highlight for us this year."
The organizers mentioned that arrangements for the upcoming final event are progressing rapidly, with curators focusing meticulously on every aspect to create an unforgettable experience for the participants. The finalists will be provided with VIP services, including complimentary lodging and transportation.
The bank highlighted that the series continues to have a substantial influence on both the Namibian golf scene and the charities it backs, solidifying its position as a top event in the country's schedule.
JG van Graan, Chief Commercial Officer of Nedbank Namibia, honored the finalists and extended his best wishes for the final. "Your commitment and talent have led you here, and we are extremely proud of each one of you. You are all winners in our eyes."
He also highlighted the significant impact of the series' charitable aspect, which will support Agra ProVision this year. "The funds generated from this series directly aid Agra ProVision, an organization focused on delivering vital training services and assistance to underprivileged agricultural communities. This effort clearly reflects our dedication to creating a real change in the lives of Namibians through promoting sustainable growth."
Now in its sixth year, the series is marking a significant milestone of impressive accomplishments and broader impact. Not only has the series exceeded its fundraising targets, but it has also made history by becoming the first series to access all 13 registered golf courses throughout the country. Its substantial growth since the beginning highlights the powerful collaborations that keep fueling its success.
