On June 3, Dhaka reported that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) forcibly moved eight individuals across the border into Bangladesh at the Chandshikari crossing point in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj during the early hours of Tuesday.
As per authorities, the event took place at approximately 4:30 am when members of the Border Security Force compelled the group, which consisted of four males and four females, to cross over into Bangladesh.
A border security unit from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) based at the Chandshikari camp subsequently apprehended the eight individuals.
BGB thwarts Indian BSF's efforts to send 57 individuals into Bangladesh's Lalmonirhat region.
After confirming the occurrence, Lt. Col. Golam Kibria, who leads the 59 BGB Battalion, stated that the individuals detained will be transferred to the Bholahat police station for further questioning post-interrogation.
The event mirrors an earlier episode on May 27, during which the BSF forcibly moved 17 individuals across the border into Bangladesh at the Bibishan crossing point in Gomostapur upazila.
