The new travel ban affected 12 countries, while seven other countries were issued visa restrictions.

The president of Chad, Mahamat Deby, has responded to Donald Trump's travel restrictions by halting the issuing of visas to U.S. citizens.

On Thursday, Mr. Deby revealed this information, just one day following Mr. Trump’s signing of the proclamation that banned Chadian nationals along with citizens from six additional African nations from entering the United States.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, the updated U.S. travel ban impacted 12 nations, with an additional seven countries facing visa limitations.

Apart from Chad, other impacted African nations include the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan.

According to Mr Trump The restriction was put in place to safeguard the United States from foreign terrorists and various security risks.

The United States has established policies aimed at safeguarding its citizens against alien individuals who plan to carry out terrorist acts, jeopardize national security, propagate hate ideologies, or misuse immigration laws with malicious intent.

He emphasized that more crucially, the United States needs to pinpoint these foreigners prior to their admittance or arrival in the country.

Nevertheless, Chad countered by stating they would enforce the concept of reciprocity by halting visa processing for American citizens.

On Facebook, President Deby stated, "I have directed the government to follow the principles of reciprocity and halt the processing of visas for US citizens."

Chad doesn’t have any aircraft to provide nor does it possess billions of dollars to donate, yet Chad retains its dignity and pride.

In the meantime, the African Union Commission has cautioned that the haphazard travel bans placed on various African nations by the U.S. government might put years of diplomatic ties under pressure.

The commission asserts that the US government should embrace a more balanced and fact-driven strategy for its decisions.

The African Union Commission kindly asks the United States to approach this matter in a way that is fair, grounded in evidence, and indicative of the enduring alliance between the U.S. and Africa, as stated by them.
