
On Sunday, Vietnam’s national airline, Vietnam Airlines, launched a new direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Denpasar, the heart of tourism in Bali, Indonesia—the island renowned as the most beautiful in Asia.
The airline has introduced a new route, marking their second non-stop link to Indonesia following the launch of their Ho Chi Minh City-Jakarta service. This move caters to the increasing travel demands between both countries.
The first flight, designated as VN641, transported 161 travelers and landed at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport at 3 p.m., following a journey of 4 hours and 35 minutes. Upon their arrival, passengers received keepsakes as welcome gifts.
During the inauguration event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong characterized the route as an emblem of growing connectivity, confidence, and collaboration between Vietnam and Indonesia—two dynamic Southeast Asian nations and close neighbours.
Tran Tuan Nghia, Vietnam Airlines' chief representative in Indonesia, said the airline will initially operate four weekly round-trip flights on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Starting in July 2025, the carrier plans to increase frequency to daily flights to meet rising demand.

In 2024, Bali saw an influx of 6.3 million international travelers, exceeding numbers from before the pandemic. The island is aiming for an even higher figure this year with a target of attracting approximately 6.5 million tourists.
