From a serendipitous meeting between an eagle and a fox to an unspoiled glacial lake, these stunning photographs highlight the finest work of international travel photographers in 2025.

National Geographic Traveller has announced the winners of this year's Photography Competition which sees both amateur and professional photographers submit incredible travel shots.

Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK) , stated: "Our competition continues to grow stronger each year, and this edition is undoubtedly among the most impressive ones we've had. Exceptional photography lies at the core of the National Geographic identity, and the victors in this contest certainly embody that standard."

'Seizing all from the breathtaking scenery of Iceland and ' Italy for amazing wildlife photographs Spain and Canada , the 18 finalists - who made the cut from thousands of entries - have really elevated the level of travel photography with their ingenuity and skill.'

The recipient of this year’s award is Justin Cliffe, honored for his remarkable depiction of a woman and her grandchild engaged in embroidery in Vietnam.

The judges comment: 'This scene beautifully encapsulates the profound connection across ages, radiating immense elegance and human emotion.'

'The colors, lighting, and textures blend together beautifully.'
