The Federal Government has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be observed as public holidays for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through an official statement from the Federal Government on Monday.
The minister offered his congratulations to all Nigerian Muslims and those living abroad for this occasion. He encouraged the global Muslim community to uphold the values of self-sacrifice, devotion, and belief exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
Tunji-Ojo similarly urged Nigerians to utilize the Eid holiday to seek prayers for their nation’s peace, unity, and progress.
The minister informed Nigerians that the people-focused reforms and initiatives implemented to advance President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aim to return Nigeria to the route of development.
"Extending best wishes for a joyful Eid-al-Adha to the Muslim community, the minister encouraged all Nigerians to collaborate with the current government in its endeavors to reinstate Nigeria’s prominence as a mighty nation," the statement noted.
