On June 2, a 30-year-old man died when a blaze erupted in a two-story animal shelter in Gauriganga Municipality-10, Jwalpur, located in the western Nepalese district of Kailali, according to police reports from Sunday evening.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ran Bahadur Chand, head of the Area Police Office in Malakheti, stated that the blaze consumed the wooden structure owned by Anil Chaudhary. Unfortunately, this led to the tragic demise of his father, Kukru Dagoura Tharu, who was resting upstairs when the incident occurred.

A police unit headed by Sub-Inspector Khemraj Pant was dispatched to handle the situation and managed to put out the flames; however, by that point, the shed had been entirely obliterated. Authorities stated that the origin of the fire is still unclear.

The fire was reported late last night and had already spread considerably by the time we got there," stated DSP Chand. "Sadly, we were unable to rescue the elderly gentleman.

No additional injuries were noted, and an ongoing probe aims to identify the source of the fire.
