ABUJA – The Federal Government has announced that both Friday, June 6th, and Monday, June 9th, 2025, will be observed as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, declared this on behalf of the Federal Government and extended his congratulations to Muslims at home and abroad on this special occasion.

A declaration issued by the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani, on Monday stated that the minister urged the Muslim community to uphold the values of devotion and dedication demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim ( Peace be unto him ). The minister also encouraged everyone to take this time to seek blessings for a tranquil and thriving Nigeria through prayer.

The Minister reassured Nigerians that the people-focused reforms and initiatives implemented as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aim to steer Nigeria back onto the road to advancement.

As he extended best wishes for the joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebrations to the Muslim community, the Minister called upon all Nigerians to unite behind the current government’s initiatives aimed at reinstating Nigeria’s prominence as a leading nation.
