• The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has released crucial safety guidelines for Hajj 2025, highlighting measures to prevent heat-related issues in Arafat.
  • Pilgrims must strictly adhere to movement schedules, avoid walking to Muzdalifah, and ensure compliance with official guidelines to maintain order and safety
  • Only approved practitioners are permitted to perform sacred rituals, and stringent rules are enforced to stop non-registered travelers from accessing the tents.

On June 2nd, the National Hajj Commission announced a series of crucial guidelines for Hajj 2025 established by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. These directives focus on ensuring the safety, adherence to regulations, and smooth logistics for all travelers participating in the pilgrimage.

The Ministry warned that temperatures at Arafat would be exceptionally high this year. Pilgrims were strictly advised not to leave their tents between 10am and 4pm to avoid sunstroke.

Moreover, it was advised not to visit Jabalur-Rahma during busy periods to reduce the risk of heat-related health issues. The sermon for Arafat Day would be streamed directly into the pilgrims' tents to enable their involvement while avoiding harsh weather conditions.

Tight regulations for traveling to Muzdalifah

Following dusk, the pilgrims were advised to stay inside their tents until they were transported to Muzdalifah via bus services. Any walking to Muzdalifah was firmly forbidden, guaranteeing an orderly and secure transfer.

In collaboration with Saudi agencies and offices handling Hajj affairs, the Ministry set up specific movement timetables for Jamaraat. It was mandatory for welfare boards of pilgrim states as well as tour operator companies to strictly comply with these guidelines.

Visitors were advised against going to Jamaraat at times other than their scheduled slots to maintain an organized flow and ensure everyone's safety.

Implementation of Regulations for Obtaining Hajj Permits

In order to adhere to the pilgrimage accords between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, only individuals possessing legitimate permits were permitted entry into the tents. Organizations housing unauthorized pilgrims risked facing sanctions, thereby ensuring adherence to established regulations.

Every sacrificial rite, known as Hadaya, had to be carried out exclusively via firms sanctioned by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

This measure was aimed at maintaining standard procedures and avoiding unauthorized operations.

These guidelines highlighted by the National Hajj Commission emphasize their dedication to ensuring a secure and well-organized pilgrimage experience for all participants attending Hajj 2025.

Please review the complete guidelines outlined below:

1. This year, the temperatures at Arafat are expected to be quite high. Therefore, no pilgrim should venture out from their tents between 10 AM and 4 PM. It is advisable for pilgrims not to go to Jabal Rahmah as they may risk suffering from heat stroke.
Preparations are underway to air the Friday sermon dedicated to Arafat Day inside the pilgrims' tents. 2. Following sundown, pilgrims must remain in their tents until they are transported to Muzdalifah via bus; walking to Muzdalifah is prohibited. 3. The ministry, along with various Saudi agencies and offices overseeing Hajj affairs, has established specific timings for travel to Jamaraat.
All State Pilgrimage Welfare Boards and tour operator companies must guarantee that pilgrims follow the designated schedules. Pilgrims ARE ADVISED NOT TO proceed to Jamaraat at times other than those officially allocated to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of others.
4. Pilgrims lacking valid Hajj permits must not be permitted entry into the tents. Allowing this would contravene the accords and guidelines established for the Hajj between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Those harboring such individuals will face responsibility and be subject to appropriate fines.
5. Hadaya must be carried out exclusively via companies authorized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
