TANABE, WAKAYAMA — Starting June 7, visitors can apply in advance to attend a farewell event at the Adventure World zoo and theme park in western Japan for four pandas scheduled to return to China the following day.

The entry for the June 27 event in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, will be complimentary; however, attendance will be limited to 3,500 visitors.

The event, scheduled to occur in the Big Ocean zone of the park between 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., is set to be broadcasted on YouTube as well.

Following the screening of a documentary on the development and upbringing of the four pandas, the facility will switch to a live feed showcasing how the creatures are spending their final hours in Japan. Additionally, the caretakers will deliver farewell messages to the departing bears.

Before the event begins, the park plans to collect "panda messages" both online and at the venue from visitors expressing their thoughts about the bears and their hopes to see more pandas. Additionally, they have prepared a special banner for guests who visit on June 27th to leave their signatures or well-wishes upon arrival.

Applications for attending the ceremony can be submitted through a dedicated webpage. https://terravie-app.com/items/9f0dff26-8d1d-4602-9a55-d5655fe96d0d Available in both Japanese and English, beginning at midday on June 7.
