
Sri Lanka, June 2 -- According to reports from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), the nation witnessed a notable surge in tourism, recording an influx of 120,120 tourists who visited the country in May 2025.
Based on recent statistics, travelers from India topped the list with 42,899 arrivals, constituting 35.7% of all visitors for that month.
Significant numbers of visitors also came from 8,382 tourists out of the United Kingdom, 7,965 from China, 6,580 from Germany, and 6,470 from Bangladesh.
In total, tourist arrivals for 2025 have surpassed one million, with 1,017,004 visitors recorded so far. According to the SLTDA confirmation, out of this number, 199,958 travelers originated from India, 110,220 from Russia, and 95,435 from the United Kingdom.
