The government instructed the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) to ensure its members do not cease providing healthcare services as negotiations continue regarding salary increases and improved working conditions. Health Minister Elijah Muchima stated that the Ministry of Health convened an urgent meeting with RDAZ to address their grievances. Previously, RDAZ announced they intended to halt voluntary health services beginning from a specific date.

The Government has asked the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) to instruct its members not to stop providing essential medical services as ongoing discussions aim to resolve the dispute regarding wage increases and other working conditions.

The Health Minister, Elijah Muchima, stated that the Ministry of Health has requested an urgent gathering with the RDAZ to address their worries.

RDAZ has requested the discontinuation of optional healthcare services starting from today.
