Kathmandu, Nepal – As per recent announcements made by transport business owners, all modes of public transportation throughout the nation will cease operations beginning Monday.

On Sunday night, organizations such as the Federation of Public Transport, Nepal; National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs; Transport Entrepreneurs Federation-Nepal; Nepal Independent Transport Workers’ Organization, and Nepal Transport Workers’ Union released a collective announcement. “Starting from Monday, all modes of public transportation such as buses, tempos, trucks, minibusses, jeeps, and microbuses will be halted with the exception of emergencies,” stated Bharat Nepal, who serves as the General Secretary for the Federation of Public Transportation - Nepal.
