Train services connecting Glasgow and London have faced disruptions due to harm sustained by overhead electrical wires from a toppled tree in southern Scotland.

Avanti West Coast reported that all routes were obstructed between Lockerbie and Carstairs, with service disruptions expected until 2:00 PM. Several trains planned to originate from Glasgow will instead begin their journeys in Preston, Lancashire, leading to considerable delays for passengers.

Travelers who spent the night on the Caledonian Sleeper service departing from Glasgow Central were informed that a fallen tree was blocking the track.
