The Venezuelan authorities have advised their people not to travel to the United States, and they are urgently requesting those who reside there to depart right away.
In a travel warning released through a Telegram video on Sunday, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised its citizens to "safeguard themselves and their loved ones' lives and come back to their home country."
It described the US as a "dangerous country where human rights do not exist for immigrants".
"The American dream does not exist there; instead, there are only nightmares. It is our responsibility to expose this truth and advocate for the dignity of our fellow citizens," the ministry stated.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil asserted that being a Latino, Afro descendant, or Venezuelan migrant in the United States poses significant risks. He stated, “The police act first and inquire afterward.”
Caracas pointed to the deportation of numerous migrants to a high-security prison in El Salvador earlier this year as evidence of the United States’ mistreatment of immigrants.
Venezuela claims that the deportees are enduring "inhumane conditions" and are undergoing "psychological torment."
The travel advisory for Caracas was released following a similar warning from the U.S. government last Tuesday, which advised American citizens against traveling to Venezuela due to safety concerns and urged those present to depart promptly because of the significant danger of being detained arbitrarily.
The US State Department issued a statement highlighting "significant dangers" related to unfair arrests, criminal violence, and social disturbances in the Latin American nation.
As stated in the official document, Venezuela leads as the nation with the greatest quantity of US citizens wrongfully imprisoned.
The United States doesn't maintain an embassy or consulate in Venezuela, which means it can't provide consular aid to Americans in the country.
In the previous year, Venezuela’s autocratic ruler Nicolás Maduro took stringent measures against large-scale demonstrations that erupted after an election he won was contested. International observers alleged that his government committed various violations of human rights during this period.
