Pakistan, July 19 -- The Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, extended his official trip to the United Kingdom with a successful day of meetings in Birmingham, focusing on strengthening business relations, discovering fresh market prospects, and increasing Pakistan's export presence in the UK.

The Minister conducted an in-depth meeting with the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing Pakistan's willingness to expand its export portfolio in line with the UK's industrial demands. Although recognizing the increasing trade levels with the Midlands, he emphasized Pakistan's developing strengths across various sectors beyond traditional ones, such as processed foods, fisheries, pharmaceuticals, leather products, IT services, furniture, ceramics, and sports equipment, according to a press release published here on Friday. He urged businesses in Birmingham to consider high-quality Pakistani goods like Basmati rice, mangoes, and halal-certified processed foods. Specifically, he pointed out Pakistan as a dependable partner for Birmingham's advanced manufacturing and automotive supply chains—highlighting cost-effective production capabilities, experience in light engineering and metal fabrication, and Pakistan's proven history of supplying global automotive brands.

The Minister also highlighted the potential available through Pakistan's National EV Policy and the move towards renewable energy, particularly in fields like battery technology and electric drivetrains, which closely match Birmingham's goals for sustainable transportation.

A short visit to Birmingham City Football Club gave the Minister the opportunity to see community involvement projects and talk about the worldwide acknowledgment of Pakistan's football production sector. The interaction emphasized Pakistan's prominent position in creating high-quality soccer gear utilized by premier leagues around the globe.

Later, the Minister went to 'Nouvo,' a prominent food distribution company based in the UK, where he met with key retailers of Pakistani food items. The gathering included major retailers and distributors involved in importing food products from Pakistan to the UK Midlands.

Conversations centered around enhancing commercial supply networks and increasing the presence of halal-certified and ethnic food items from Pakistan in the UK market.

These interactions highlight Pakistan's renewed focus on industrial connections, regional supply networks, and trade initiatives driven by the diaspora, indicating a clear effort to establish Pakistan as a beneficial trading partner for the UK.
