A young entrepreneur and mentor, Hassana Issaka Bambara has been declared the victor of the 2025 Youth in Business Pitch Challenge, earning GHC 10,000 in prize funds, kindly provided by the Yaw Adutuwum Foundation.
Her victory marked a day filled with intense presentations, engaging narratives, and creative business strategies aimed at tackling community issues and promoting youth development.
The 2025 Youth in Business Summit, taking place in Accra, highlighted the strength, creativity, and positive influence of young people. With the theme “Ignite the Future: Youth Power, Innovation and Impact,” the two-day event gathered hundreds of young leaders, business owners, advocates, students, and groups focused on youth for discussions, connections, and teamwork.
Born on January 5, 2004, Ms. Bambara is a Level 300 student at the University of Ghana, majoring in both Social Work and Social Education. She has established two businesses: Hasat Enterprise, which collaborates with organizations to provide training in soap-making and other hands-on skills for youth, and Hasat Foods, a catering company that supplies meals and condiments, including shito, to students and local communities.
Following her victory, Ms. Bambara shared her appreciation and resolve, saying, "This award goes beyond financial gain. It's an invitation to continue creating chances for young individuals to learn, work, and succeed. I aim to leverage this opportunity to support others, particularly young women, by providing skills that can transform their lives."
Her narrative highlights the summit's focus on youth-driven initiatives that extend beyond financial gain to create lasting social benefits. With Hasat Enterprise, Hassana has already educated numerous young adults, concentrating on sustainable employment and quality craftsmanship. At the same time, Hasat Foods addresses food security and accessibility through community-based approaches.
Apart from her business ventures, she is highly involved in mentoring and community service. She has participated in initiatives with the Play and Learn Foundation, the Muslimah Mentorship Network, AMA Cares Foundation, and the Ghana Muslim Students Association National Ladies Wing, where she has supported young women in areas such as academics, life skills, and leadership.
Ms. Hassana Issaka Bambara has formally been awarded her GHC 10,000 prize by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutuwum, the former Minister of Education.
The Pitch Challenge highlighted that youth entrepreneurship goes beyond financial gain, focusing instead on turning ideas into tangible, growing initiatives. Her win confirms that when guidance, learning, and access to opportunities come together, young individuals can make a significant difference.
As she progresses in her education and broadens her endeavors, Hassana Issaka Bambara serves as a motivating example for upcoming entrepreneurs, particularly young women, demonstrating that leadership with a clear purpose can truly shape the future.
The group thanked Dr. Yaw Adutwum and his foundation for the significant support and urged other leaders to participate in developing opportunities for young individuals with innovative ideas to help them realize their visions.
