A video showing a funeral ceremony has shocked Kenyans on social media because of an odd behavior.

The video, depicting occurrences at the tomb, displays the casket already placed in the hole, with some dirt scattered inside.

A short time later, one of the pallbearers entered the grave, gently placed the lowering straps back under and over the coffin.

During the entire process, voices were audible as people debated the next steps, with numerous individuals issuing directions.

The bearers then lifted the coffin, briefly pausing the funeral ceremony in an effort to take the departed from his last home.

What occurred once the coffin was taken out of the grave?

Following a short effort to stay upright, the coffin was gently positioned next to the burial site. A man came forward and lifted the lid.

He softly raised the dead man's head, took off his necktie, and laid it next to him before sealing the coffin once more.

The man then directed the pallbearers to turn the coffin so that the deceased's head was now facing the opposite way from its initial position.

"Keep the coffin steady, hold on, take it slowly as you turn it, that's right. Now you may place it back in the grave," voices were heard directing the process.

The bearers of the coffin adhered to the directions, and the casket was gently placed back into the earth, appearing to be a lengthy and tiresome procedure.

In the meantime, a choir was softly singing in the background, as the priest, who appeared to concur with the unconventional ceremony, watched quietly.

Internet users amazed by an unusual funeral scene

Numerous audience members raised doubts about the behavior, with some calling it offensive, while others considered if it was the last request of the departed.

Harrieta Jimbo:

Many people still find it funny that the tie was for the funeral anyway, my uncle was buried with a tie too. They had to take it off after three months because he kept sending his wife dreams that he was being choked. But since they removed the tie, he hasn't troubled anyone. It's been three years, and he hasn't caused any problems.

Floyce Khalayi:

Are they placing him in the ground with a tie since he's the boss of the cemetery? Let the deceased find peace.

Joy Sweetheart:

They were unaware, but individuals should not be interred with a tie or footwear. It's akin to barring them from entering heaven.

Frank:

Seriously, he's never worn a tie before, why now?

Daphine Kanaza:

The departed must be exhausted. This is merely a lack of respect for the deceased.

Jane Njenga:

These individuals have the means to pave the grave, yet couldn't secure a hearse? Or was this his last desire?
